All about The Southern Gal
Hey Y'all and Welcome to The Southern Gal's Cookbook!
My name is EricaAnn or Aunt Jellie if you ask my nephews and niece.
I am 22 years old and my passion for cooking comes from my parents.
I learned a lot from them, and picked up some of my own tricks along the way.
My mom loves to cook and bake and even has her own cake business that she operates out of her own kitchen. Her Turtle Pumpkin Cheesecake is to die for!
My dad also cooks a lot. He's French Cajun from New Orleans so he makes gumbos, etouffe, goulash and things like that. But he also makes good BBQ and bakes a little (okay he actually only baked once that I remember and it was what he called upside down swamp cake, also delicious despite the name).
I am married to a wonderful man (pictured above). We were High School Sweethearts and first loves (cue awwww) We have two dogs, Ginger, a 3 year old Min Pin and Gixxer, a 1 year old Doberman Pinscher.
I am also a full time student studying Early Childhood Education and want to work with ESL students (children learning to speak English).
I have a dream of opening a catering business or maybe even a food truck one day, hopefully in the near future.
The lovely brats pictured above are my oldest nephew and my niece. These kids are my heart and I love them as if they were my own.
Connor, my nephew, is 4 and he likes to help in the kitchen.
Jay, my niece, is also 4 and she loves to eat! She will eat anything I make.
They are my toughest critics, so if it's Connor and Jay approved then it has to be good!
The purpose of this page is to share my stories and recipes from my kitchen with y'all in hopes that someone will like them ;)
I am on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest. The links for each are at the top of the page and also on the Contact page.
Visit the home page to submit recipe requests and fill out a survey to help determine what recipes will be shared next.
